To celebrate the launch of Jeep’s new plug-in hybrid, the Renegade 4xe, Jeep wanted to raise awareness of how many electric charging points there are throughout the UK compared to local plug-in car ownership. There was a particular focus on whether plug-in vehicle owners throughout the UK are equally well served with charging points or whether there is a north-south divide.
We created a custom-built interactive map, using a combination of public and government data, on the number of charging points and number of registered EV’s by local authority, giving users an indication of how many cars per charging device there are in their local area. The map breaks down the data by region and local authority, depending on your zoom level, and also lists the exact number of public charging devices and registered plug-in cars per area. The map was used on various news sites including the MailOnline and The Sun.
